This is done for two main reasons: to fulfill the requirement of Duty of Disclose and to mine relevant patent literature, in order to draft strong claims by designing around the prior art."

-- "Recent Patent Applications" -- The process of examining and issuing patents can take 27 months, on average. By law, the application for patent, (whose invention information was concealed from everyone other than the inventor, his patent attorney, and the USPTO examiner,) is PUBLISHED after 18 months. Things can happen before a patent is granted and issued, e.g., the inventor can withdraw his patent application and lose his filing fee; he can be denied his patent because he hasn't sent in his moneys for the final issuance; he could be denied his patent because the examiner finds similar claims in other issued patents that invalidates the granting of a new patent; and, get this, someone reads the patent before it is issued [as above] and tells the USPTO that it is the same as another previously published 'undiscovered patent' OR even an 'undiscovered publication of prior similar art.'

(2) That the invention will materially:

(i) Enhance the quality of the environment;

-- -- It's amazing to see the advancement in Science and Technology: -->

-- Two carpenters were working together and one of them slipped and with a ripsaw cut off his arm. -- The other picked up the limb and rushed his friend to the hospital. In a week the man was up and around playing baseball and taking bat! -- As bad luck would have it, again the man tripped and cut off his leg. His friend this time placed the leg in a plastic trashbag and rushed his buddy to the hospital. A week later the man wasn't even limping, he was even running around playing football! -- The third time. [Get this.] This clumsy carpenter must have really been goofing-off and decapitated himself.. and this time his trusty friend had the bag ready and sped to the hospital, dropped the head and body off at the Emergency Room, and didn't even wait around to sign in his friend.

-- Being that they worked together and the job needed completion, the friend worked extra hard and did both men's work. He felt good knowing that his friend would be able to have the money for his stay in the hospital.

-- He came to visit him in the hospital the next day. (Ready to take him home -- thought he'd be ready?)

-- The hospital attendant was startled to see him. -- "The police have a warrant out for your arrest! You've suffocated to death that man you brought in!" :-))

"WELCOME TO THE WHEEL WORLD"

-- Moral of our story: "No good deed goes unpunished." Don't take failure as a non- alternative. Look for the "EXIT" sign(s) when entering a building and plan to use one. -- This goes for your inventing as well. Know when to quit and get out. Learn it from this IASL Website.

When making purchases online, stay on the lookout for areas where you can enter a “promotional code,” “discount code” or “coupon.” If you spot such an option, open a Web browser in another window and do a quick Internet search for the retailer’s name along with the same catchphrase used on that retailer’s Web site. Your search could yield a coupon code that could help you save even more on your purchase.

Question: I have a box of old electronics — computers, cameras, cellphones. They all work. Can I sell them? Or can you help me recycle them?
Answer: "There are buyers, if your stuff isn't too old. Even broken gadgets are sold for parts online. Try sites like eBay, Craigslist and Kijiji. Some sites will buy your stuff. You won't get as much as you would selling to individuals. But it's quick and easy. Gazelle is one example. Also, retailers and manufacturers have trade-in programs. Most give you credit toward new stuff. Finally, you could just donate them. Do it at Reconnect." -- Kim Komando
